evilgiane and Slimesito Deliver Collaborative 'EVILSLIME' Mixtape
Featuring appearances from Eera and K$upreme on the 11-song, 22-minute project.
New York-based collective Surf Gang has played a key role in pushing the sound of underground hip-hop forward this decade, with producer evilgiane as the mastermind behind many of its cutting-edge beats. For his latest project, evilgiane linked with rapper Slimesito for an 11-track mixtape that is aptly-titled EVILSLIME.
Clocking in at just over 22 minutes in length, EVILSLIME carries a rapid-fire clip of bars from Slimesito, with evilgiane’s hard-hitting, uptempo production complementing his flows. Fellow Surf Gang producer Eera joins in for “RIGHT OR WRONG” — which features its own music video (viewable above) and sees Slimesito posted up in a warehouse. Later in the tracklist, “MONA LISA” flips Blood Orange’s “Wish” — sampling the melodic track and throwing heavy bass atop it. From there, K$upreme enters the mix on “TOP FLOOR,” bringing braggadocious bars to the track alongside Slimesito. evilgiane’s penchant for ethereal production is highlighted on the following track, “MAKE IT HOME,” while Slimesito’s pace eases with the remaining tracks taking on a more laid-back sound.
